Caunton were pleased to supply and erect the structural steelwork for their second major Parcel Hub contract awarded by Winvic Construction. The company have supplied the structural steelwork and metal decking for leading parcel delivery company DPD (UK)’s fifth UK hub. DPD (UK) is part of La Poste’s GeoPost Group. The new hub is built on a new £150m site just two miles from DPD’s Hub 4 and International Gateway site in Hinckley. Caunton in fact supplied the steelwork and decking for Hub 4.
For Hub 5 Caunton supplied the steel framework for this new 276,000ft² hub building which is a massive 503m in length. It is located on a 39 acre site on a new 82 acre employment park just off junction 1 of the M69.
Caunton supplied nearly 2300te of steelwork for five buildings in all – the Main Hub, VMU, Main Gatehouse, Garage/Tyre Store/Salt Barn and Steam Prep.
