Caunton have supplied and erected the steelwork for a new school in the Potteries. The new, and larger, Thistley Hough High School, designed by architect Aedas, engineer Cundall, will accommodate 1,050 pupils aged 11-16. Current school numbers are c 800. The new school will enjoy a Media and Visual Arts specialist status.

Caunton have recently been supplying structural steelwork for yet another new school building –the Ellis Guilford School in Basford, in the outskirts of Nottingham. The project comprises a total investment of over £12million.

Caunton working for major national building contractor, Costain, has now completed construction of steelwork for the structural frames of two major London school developments. The particular schools are the Addey and Stanhope School and the Prendergast Hillyfields school, and they are part of the London Borough of Lewisham’s BSF programme.
