Quite some winning design for the Caunton "Engineering and Innovation Award" at the University of Nottingham

We, at Caunton are very pleased to be sponsoring the Caunton "Engineering and Innovation Award" at the University of Nottingham.

The Advanced Structural Design module, led and supervised by Dr Walid Tizani, involved a group project. This year's project for final year MEng and MSc students was set to a very demanding brief - to design an Airport Terminal.

Caunton's own engineers have been lending their expertise and working closely with the students in developing their designs. The quality and creativity of the finished designs was outstanding and most certainly represents Engineering Excellence and Innovation. There were impressive and innovative solutions that were tested to be structurally sound with sustainability and constructability credentials. The standard was very high and the judges reported a mean project mark of 71% and a maximum of 89%. Two designs were in fact shortlisted, which resulted in a winning team. The video shows a walk-through of their design.

The winning team is shown in the photograph and will receive individual certificates and a total prize money of £600.

Caunton Engineering wish all of the graduating students every success as they embark on their future careers in Engineering.
