Caunton Engineering back on track with supporting local schools with work placements

After two years of being unable to support work placements due to covid, Caunton are back on track with these. From the end of June to September, Caunton Engineering has/will facilitate 12 work placements for students attending local schools. These placements include opportunities in the;
• Caunton Academy where the students gain practical experience in fabrication and welding
• Design Office where the students work alongside structural engineers looking at customer requirements and structural design
• Drawing office where the students gain an insight into 3D modelling and the technology used to produce drawings for production
• Cut shack facility where the placement works alongside our CNC operators and gain an insight into how CNC machinery works.

Caunton Engineering are keen to support these placements and work with the schools in the region. These students could be our future apprentices. A Certificate of Achievement is presented to all the young people who successfully complete this particular Work Experience Programme. Caunton Managing Director Matthew Shimwell is shown in the accompanying photo having presented two of the successful students with their certificates.

The schools supported during 2022 include; Kimberley, Hall Park Academy, Aldercar High, John Flamstead and Ashfield.
