Caunton Engineering Features in the Press for Landmark Steelwork at TJ Morris Distribution Centre

Caunton Engineering is proud to be featured in the press as the steelwork contractor in the construction of the impressive TJ Morris distribution centre near Doncaster.

Main contractor McLaren Construction recently marked a significant milestone in the project with a steel signing ceremony, celebrating the completion of the 43-metre-tall high bay section of the facility. The event recognised the major achievements so far in what is set to become a 252,500m² state-of-the-art automated logistics hub.

Caunton has been at the forefront of the steelwork design and delivery for this development. To date, the project has involved:

- 6,000 tonnes of structural steelwork
- 2,600 holding down bolts
- 142,400 structural bolts

The facility includes mezzanine floors and integrated office spaces. It is also a three-span portal-framed structure.

Located at Unity Connect business park; the distribution centre will support over 300 Home Bargains stores across the UK. The wider project will continue with the construction of the 28-metre-tall low bay section.
