With the European requirement for CE Marking just around the corner, Caunton are proud to announce its Factory Production Control (FPC) system has been certified by the SCCS.
Caunton Engineering, by means of this and the company’s certified ISO 3834-2 Welding Quality Management System, is now in a position to offer CE Marked steel buildings. Because the harmonised European Standard EN 1090 “Execution of steel structures and aluminium structures” is poised to be cited imminently in the European Commissions Official Journal, it cannot be long now before the requirement to CE Mark-ed Steel Structures is specified on contracts. Although, for the present, CE Marking is not mandatory in the UK, the European Commission is in the process of replacing the Construction Products Directive (CPD) with the Construction Products Regulations (CPR). We estimate that the CPR is likely to come into force in 2012, at which time CE Marking will become compulsory in both the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Caunton are therefore fully prepared for this development.
