Caunton Wastes No Time In Gaining Environmental Accreditation

August 2007 saw reason for celebration at Caunton when the company proudly attained certified accreditation to the international environmental standard ISO14001:2004. The accreditation was gained following a three day audit carried out by the SCCS (Steel Construction Certification Scheme) which covered all aspects of Caunton’s operations and procedures - from the estimating stage to completion on site.

ISO 14001:2004 is an internationally accepted specification for an environmental management system (EMS). This specifies requirements which help an organisation, on the one hand, minimise how its operations may affect the environment negatively, and on the other, achieve continuous improvement of its environmental performance.

However, Caunton understands that their environmental responsibilities do not stop there. Caunton’s Managing Director Simon Bingham emphasises the company’s future commitment. He stated, “We have to continually improve the environmental system by introducing new objectives and targets, processes and procedures, to ensure that the company becomes even more environmentally efficient.”
