Caunton supplied and erected 2,769 tonnes of beam and column steelwork, with an adjacent external generator structure and roof chiller steelwork for the Vantage Date Centre, LHR21. The building is six storeys high and covers 194,000sq.ft.
It was reported that the client, Vantage Data Centers, was entering the London market with a 48MW, £500 million data centre campus. This was Vantage’s first London data centre, LHR1 and the 11th EMEA campus. It is located in the five-acre Power Gate neighbourhood of North Acton, an already established data centre community that is already home to data centres owned by Colt DCS and Equinix.
Vantage’s campus totals 430,000sq.ft, offers 300W-per-sq.ft average densities. It will open its doors to hyperspace customers and cloud providers in late 2024. The facility is powered by the National Grid and cooled by a closed loop chilled water system.
