Caunton Engineering was pleased to have been awarded the contract for the main and secondary steelwork, which included cat ladders, open mesh flooring and plant deck handrailing, by main contractor McLaren Construction for a new building at Omega Business Park.

This is the fourth building on this development site where Caunton has supplied the structural steelwork to McLaren Construction – two buildings in 2019 and one in 2022.

The latest building is 384 metres long by 177 metres wide, requiring over 1,400 tonnes of steelwork. It has a 3-storey main office, with a plant deck on the lid and two, two-storey transport offices to the north and south of the warehouse. The steel frame is a 6-span portal with 18 metres to the underside of the haunch.

Caunton were delighted to have worked once again on this prestigious development.
