An interesting article in the January New Steel Construction magazine headed “Five go to Chippenham” refers to the five warehouse units where Caunton is supplying the steelwork for main contractor Bowmer and Kirkland, adjacent to this Wiltshire town. Not surprising that the article says steel is being used, as the material holds a 94.1% share of the single storey non –domestic market. The reasons for this, listed in the article, quote cost effectiveness, adaptability and the contribution to the circular economy through reuse and recycling. It adds that these are valued by developers, contractors, designers and building users. The buildings are designed for BREEAM Excellent and EPC A+ rating.
