2025: A Year of Progress For Caunton Engineering

Caunton Engineering has enjoyed a very successful year in 2025, with achievements shared across the whole company and progress made in every area of the business.

2025 has been an exceptional year for employee development and professional recognition at Caunton. Two members of our Design Team have successfully became Chartered, with one employee completing their Institution of Structural Engineers Examination and Chartered Professional Review and the other completing the Institution of Civil Engineers Chartered Professional Review, becoming the ninth and tenth Chartered Engineers within our department. Their achievement highlights their dedication and strengthens our Design Team’s technical capability. We are equally proud to celebrate our Marketing Director, Geoffrey Taylor who was awarded the Fellowship of the BCSA, in recognition of their exceptional contribution to the UK structural steelwork industry. This rare and distinguished accolade reflects decades of dedication and expertise within the sector.

In addition, 2025 was a particularly successful year for our apprentices, who completed their End Point Assessment (EPA), showcasing their hard work, determination and the consistent quality of training delivered through our in-house academy.

This year was also a major year for technological advancement within the company. Caunton made significant investments in two major machines:
• The PeddiBot-1250, a robotic cutting system that enhances precision and efficiency,
• The Mazak FG-Neo, installed at Caunton as the first of its kind in the country and the first every to be installed by a steelwork company.
These machines mark a step forward in our adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies, enabling improved accuracy and increased production output. They reinforce Caunton’s position at the forefront of modern steelwork fabrication and demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.

Another key milestone this year was the opening of our new trailer park, a development that has significantly increased our capability to store steelwork safely and efficiently. This investment has improved logistics planning, reduced yard congestion and supported smoother coordination of steelwork deliveries for all projects.

2025, also saw the refurbishment of our Training Academy, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to developing the next generation of skilled engineers and fabricators. The revitalised Academy now provides an even better environment for apprentices and trainees, with enhanced workshop areas, modernized equipment, and updated learning resources.

A further highlight was the recognition of one of our landmark projects. EcoPark proudly won the Social Infrastructure Project Award at the Building Controls Industry Awards (BCIA), an accolade that reinforces the quality, innovation, and environmental focus behind the project’s delivery.

Another standout accomplishment was Caunton's successful achievement of Fit for Nuclear (F4N) status – an industry recognised benchmark for capability, quality and safety within the nuclear supply chain. Achieving F4N demonstrates our commitment to world-class operational standards and opens the door to delivering high-integrity steelwork for one of the UK’s most demanding industries.

As we reflect on 2025, Caunton is proud of the achievements made across all areas of the business. These accomplishments demonstrate our continued commitment to excellence, innovation and long-term growth. We extend our sincere thanks to all employees for their hard work, our clients for their continued trust, and our partners for their collaboration throughout the year. We look forward to building on this success in 2026 and continuing to deliver engineering excellence in all we do.
