Caunton Engineering was proud to be represented at the 2025 University of Nottingham Graduation Day ceremony.

Technical Director Gavin Christie and Principal Engineer Robert Weeden attended to present the Caunton “Engineering and Innovation” Award for the Advanced Structural Design Module, led and supervised by Dr Paul Ragsdale, Assistant Professor. This module involves a major group project, and this year’s brief was to design a new airport terminal.

Caunton sponsors this particular module and also contributes through a guest lecture. Our engineers work closely with students, lending their expertise to help develop the designs. The quality and creativity of this year’s projects were considered outstanding, truly reflecting Engineering Excellence and Innovation.

Caunton actively supports both local universities — the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University — and sponsors two additional awards:

1. The Second-Year Civil Engineering Design Project Award for University of Nottingham students.
2. The Caunton Engineering Prize for the Outstanding Student on the MSc Structural Engineering Suite at Nottingham Trent University.

We are pleased to support these engineers of the future and wish them every success in their studies and careers.
