We, at Caunton are very pleased to have sponsored the Caunton 'Engineering and Innovation' Award at the University of Nottingham. The Advanced Structural Design module, led and supervised by Dr Walid Tizani, involved a group project. This year's project for final year MEng and MSc students was set to a very demanding brief - to design an demountable tennis court terminal.
Caunton's own engineers have lent their expertise and worked closely with the students in developing their designs. The quality and creativity of the finished designs was outstanding and most certainly represents engineering excellence and innovation. There were impressive and innovative solutions that were tested to be structurally sounds with sustainability credentials. The standard was very high and the judges reported a mean project mark of 71%. There were nine entries, which resulted in a winning team - shown in the photograph. Each member of the winning team will receive an individual certificate and a share of the total price money of £600.
The video shows a fly-through of their design.
Caunton Engineering wish all the graduating students every success as they embark of their future careers in Engineering.
