Caunton Engineering are most pleased to have been awarded the contract by major contractor Benniman Construction for the structural steelwork for a new industrial / distribution development in Longmoor, Hampshire. The developers are Bentall GreenOak and Equation Properties, the architect UMC Architects. The site is at Vanguard Logistics Park, a former Ministry of Defence site spanning 15 acres.
The new industrial spaces will total 346,563sq.ft and has been designed to meet the highest environmental performance. Caunton's contract requires the design and construction of over 1,100 tonnes of steel framing for two separate single storey warehouse / production facilities with two integral two-storey offices.
The impressive development will target BREEAM Excellent certification and feature renewable technologies such as solar PV panelling and air source heat pumps, with green walling to some of the elevations and office areas. Externally there will be bicycle shelters and 36 active charging points for electric vehicles.
