Caunton Engineering are very pleased to welcome the exciting new steel design guide - the British Constructional Steelwork Association and Steel Construction Institute publication P449 "Best Practice for Designing Low Embodied Carbon Steel Buildings". This guide focuses on sustainable solutions and innovative approaches to minimize carbon footprints in steel construction.
Caunton have made a major contribution to this, which is acknowledged in the preface. Robert Weeden, Caunton's Technical Director states: "Caunton Engineering Limited MD Matthew Shimwell and I are thrilled to have been able to contribute." He also added: "We hope this guide serves as a valuable resource for industry professionals dedicated to a sustainable future."
Matthew Shimwell, Caunton's Managing Director adds a further note with respect to the guide - "While there is added emphasis on reducing carbon in buildings, which is generating more optimised designs, we also need to get the balance correct to ensure that buildings remain buildable. Finding that balance between the two takes experience, which we hope the design guide will help to provide."
As one of the UK's leading and most experienced design and build fabricators, our sales and technical teams can always provide practical, low carbon, cost efficient steel building designs for our clients.
