Caunton Engineering are pleased to have been awarded the contract for the structural steelwork by main contractor McLaren Construction for a new building at the Omega Business Park.
Omega is the largest mixed use development site in the North West, extending to some 775 acres. Over the last 11 years, over 7 million square feet of manufacturing and logistics space has been developed by Miller Developments, one of the UK's leading land and property development companies.
This is the fourth building on this development site where Caunton has supplied the structural steelwork to McLaren Construction - two buildings in 2019 and one in 2022.
The latest building is 383 metres long by 177 metres wide, requiring over 1,400 tonnes of steelwork. It has a 3-storey main office, with a plant deck on the lid and 2 No 2 storey transport offices to the north and south of the warehouse. The steel frame is a 6-span portal with 18 metres to the underside of the haunch.
Caunton are delighted to be working once again on this prestigious development.
