Caunton carried out the Design and Build for the new Packaging Building and Factory Extension at Thorntons Plc.
Responsible for the design, detail, fabrication and erection of the Steelwork together with the design, supply and fixing of the Composite Metal Deck Flooring.
With critical deadlines to meet, erection commenced just 9 weeks after authorisation to go-ahead. Thanks to the extremely positive approach by the main contractor Bowmer & Kirkland and their team, the critical path was met thus achieving the Clients milestones on this major project.
The building is 100m wide and has over 1250t of steelwork. This being phase one of Thorntons Plc expansion programme, one of the largest developments under taken in the area.
