Caunton Engineering have supplied the structural framing for a major warehouse in Basildon for main contractor Buckingham Group Contracting. Known as Basildon 115, the 115,000 sq. ft. development will occupy a prominent position in an established industrial and distribution location in the heart of the Thames Gateway. This is the site of the former Kongsberg Automotive Plant in Basildon.

The client is First Panattoni which is a merger of Warwick-based First Industrial and Panattoni Europe. Panattoni Europe is the European branch of one of the world’s largest industrial developers, the Panattoni Development Company, established in the USA in 1986 by Carl Panattoni.

Caunton are most pleased to have supplied nearly 400te of steelwork for this 115,000 sq.ft portal frame warehouse, including a 7,668 sq ft first floor office too, and designed by the Caunton Technical team.

The overall building has been built to BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’ and an EPC rating of ‘A'.
