Caunton Engineering enjoyed some reflected glory when hearing of Honda UK's record results in 2004. Caunton had been working at Honda's Swindon factory, as part of Honda UK's Site Team, virtually non-stop throughout the year, supplying and erecting structural steelwork to improve efficiency and enhance the plant's capacity. The factory at Swindon produces the CRV sports utility and Civic models and made more than 193,000 cars in 2000.
Caunton had been involved alongside engineer Rolton Services Consultants on four major projects during the year; modifications to the PO Building (expanding the Bumper manufacture for Line 1) , ML North Receiving Building (for better distribution of Components), the PBS Building ( extending the Paint Shop facility and illustrated in the photograph), and the ECC Building (increasing engine storage).
