Caunton Engineering are most pleased to have supplied the structural steelwork for a purpose build warehouse for major national food distributor A F Blakemore. Caunton’s contract was awarded to the company by major main contractor McLaren Construction, who themselves are working for client Equation Properties. The project is a 140,000 sq. ft. multi-temperature controlled distribution facility and located at Manton Lane Bedford. The steelwork, designed by Caunton’s technical team, is framing a single storey industrial unit with a four storey office block, and separate transport office.
The new site, which will house ambient, chill and frozen chambers, will complement A.F. Blakemore’s existing network of distribution centres and provide the business with additional supply-chain capacity to support targeted growth across its retail, wholesale and foodservice divisions. Caunton are most pleased to be playing a part in this important development.
