Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has announced the winner of its Building of the Year Award 2013: Number One Riverside, a public multi-use building in Rochdale.
The steel framework is by Caunton Engineering – for further details see Caunton Web Site News of both 31.08.2011 and 9.07.2012.
This Rochdale Council building was up against some formidable competition from the three other finalists: ITV's new Coronation Street production centre at Media City UK, the Air Traffic Control Tower at Manchester Airport and The Pavilion at Lancashire County Cricket Club – all coincidentally steel-framed.
Commenting on the winner of this Greater Manchester Building of the Year Award, Mike Gibson, Chair of the Chamber's Property and Construction Committee, said:
"Number One Riverside was chosen because of its stunning design, its high sustainability credentials, its high quality of build.........” – the staff of Caunton are delighted to be, in some small part, responsible for this.
