PFI School contracts come in threes

Caunton have been awarded a steelwork order within the Oldham PFI schools contract won by Kier Group. Construction of the new schools, to replace the existing Failsworth and The Radclyffe secondary schools, will be carried out by Kier Build and Kier North West under a £51m construction contract.

The Kier project team comprises PFI specialist Kier Project Investment and facilities management subsidiary Kier Managed Services as service provider for the 25-year term.

Caunton’s Oldham contract – for the Failsworth school - follows on from successfully supplying the steelwork for two other major PFI schools contracts- Derby for Norwest Holst (see Caunton web site news1.04.05) and Northampton for Galliford Try (see Caunton web site news 3.07.06).

Schools orders come in threes …as the saying might go.
